Arysta LifeScience faced numerous challenges in building its North American forecasting process. First of all, the planning process was inconsistent. Each sales manager provided his or her own projections in separate spreadsheets, which had to then be consolidated and segmented. This led to the lengthy and cumbersome practice of continually changing & updating the plan.
Additionally, since every team and participant used different formats, logic and terminology, the data transfer between finance and supply chain was disjointed. This process led to a lack of confidence in the forecast because there was limited visibility into the basis supporting the forecast.
