Burt’s Bees to Share Collaborative Forecasting Best Practices
Burt’s Bees is the leading manufacturer of Earth-friendly natural personal care products for face, body, hair and lip care. Their products are distributed via 30,000 retail outlets, including major grocery and drug store chains such as Target, Walmart, CVS, Walgreen’s and RiteAid along with traditional gift and health retailers.
Next month at IBF’s Supply Chain Forecasting and Planning Conference, Burt’s Bees will discuss how collaborative forecasting can help increase forecast accuracy. Under their old process, sales and demand planning forecasts were independently maintained with limited SKU level planning. Now Burt’s Bees uses John Galt’s web-based Planning Portal to collect forecast input every month from salespeople across the country. The new process means that sales and demand planning forecasts are reconciled every month for all customers and these forecasts can be analyzed for variances at any level, for any customer or group of customers.
The IBF Supply Chain Forecasting and Planning Conference will be February 22-23 in Phoenix, Arizona. Learn more
